The Healthiest and Fattiest Girl Scout Cookies of 2016

Cookie sales started yesterday and for millions of Americans, their New Year’s resolutions to lose weight could crumble like shortbread.

Who can resist a cute entrepreneurial child selling Girl Scout cookies?

You can’t escape it, every year, whether a little girl knocks on your door, one of your owns kids is selling or a parent is selling for their child, you will come face to face with the girl scout cookies.  A favorite tradition, there is no need to be scared of these delicious treats,   The key with girl scout cookies or any cookie for that mater is to stick to the serving size, says Ilyse Shapiro author of Should I Scoop Out My Bagel?: And 99 Other Answers to Your Everyday Diet and Nutrition Questions to Help You Lose Weight, Feel Great, and Live Healthy.
Shapiro suggests you can get more bang for your buck (more cookies per serving size) if you go for thin mints, or trefoils (short bread cookies).  One way to control yourself is to take out the serving size of cookies from the package (2-4 cookies) and not just sit there eating them right out of the package.  If you put them on a plate you are more likely to stick to the serving size vs eating endless amounts out of the package.  If you simply can’t control yourself then buy a few to be nice and then give them away.  Some people like to stick them in the freezer so they are less
