Moving Back to the City During The Pandemic

My son moved back to NYC, after six months of living at home because of the pandemic,  he had enough of suburban life. He needed to get back to work and having a social life.  I can’t blame him.

Due to the pandemic he was able to secure a much nicer apartment with a gorgeous view. The only problem is when he moved back his furniture that he had just wasn’t cutting it.  He is hard on his belongings to say the least.   We threw out his sofa when he returned home.  We had no idea how expensive furniture really was.

We replaced his old from Bobs with sofa with the Andes Sectional from West Elm

The sofa is great looking and comfortable.  That being said we need to replace everything else.  I purchased two stunning chairs from a neighbor who was moving.  I got various items from my new favorite consignment store in Katonah, Knack of all Trades.

We purchased 2 rugs at Overstock.com.  Shopping online is not as easy as it looks.   Three rugs arrived.   I told him  2 were the same size.   He heard two were the same. He laid them out with help of his superintedent in the building. the miscellaneous rug which we didn’t order in the bedroom and one of the others in the living room.   He basically hated all 3 of them even though he hasn’t unrolled this one yet.

I have since ordered  these two rugs they appear to be plushier so fingers crossed.

I got a cocktail table from Joss and Main, a media console from and an entry hall console and mirror from Wayfair. Plus a super cute table and chairs were purchased at Wayfair.

I am still in search of night tables and art, but its all coming along nicely.  Task Rabbit is coming this week to assemble and move everything into position.   Wish me luck.
