COUNTY EXECUTIVE GEORGE LATIMER INVITES ALL TO LASDON PARK’S HALLOWEEN TRAIN SHOW

Westchester County is the lower Hudson Valley’s major hotspot for Halloween happenings, and the 2019 Annual Halloween Train Show at Lasdon Park in Somers should be on your “must see” list. County Executive George Latimer invites everyone to visit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.

“The train show is a terrific attraction for everyone, especially children,” Latimer said. “Lasdon will be beautifully decorated for the season.”

The event’s principal attraction will be the Main House’s running miniature-railroad layout featuring charming Lionel Trains, with similar scale trains chugging past haunted houses, eerie scenes and whimsical dioramas.

Other attractions will be the pumpkin hay maze and the Veterans Museum’s new exhibit, Women at War.

Visitors will delight in the Spooky Eye-Spy Conservatory Stroll (included with admission fee), during which they hunt for Halloween-themed surprises — spiders, pumpkins ghosts and more – that are hidden in plants along the way.

Meet and greet a “live” dinosaur then take a walk in the park’s Dinosaur Garden. Scan the code on the signs with your smartphone using the free Zappar app for interactive fun.

Grab some burgers at the Taste of Grille food truck or snacks and refreshments at the Garden Shop.

Admission, sold at the gate is $10 per adult, $5 per child and free for ages 2 and under. Last ticket will be sold at 3:30 p.m.

The Halloween Train Show is presented by Westchester County Parks and the Friends of Lasdon.

Lasdon Park is at 2610 Amawalk Road (Route 35) in Somers.
