destination 39.3, a resident-led organization, is excited to announce the Town of Bedford’s first annual Bedford Music Festival on Saturday, October 15th, 2022. The Grammy-nominated Spin Doctors, best known for songs such as “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”, will headline the Festival, which will also include several prominent local bands.
The Festival will take place at John Jay Homestead and be held from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM. In addition to great music throughout the day and evening, the Festival will include a Taste of Bedford, where many of the local restaurants will showcase special items from their menus and give residents a chance to taste the wonderful offerings of the town. Festival goers can also enjoy visiting the booths of local businesses for plenty of fun, personalized experiences, and shopping.
“We hope and expect the Bedford Music Festival will be an annual event for years to come. It brings together great local musicians and some of the best bands in the music industry. The event also allows local businesses and restaurants to show residents why it is worth eating and shopping in town,” said Town Supervisor and destination 39.3 Co-Founder, Ellen Calves.
destination 39.3 launched in January 2022, when a group of residents, business owners, and civic leaders gathered to discuss revitalizing and strengthening the three hamlets of Bedford – Bedford Hills, Bedford Village, and Katonah. First on their agenda was creating new events spotlighting the local beauty, vitality, and diversity of the Town, while bringing the community together. “We wanted to start with something big to bring the residents of all three hamlets together and celebrate the Town of Bedford,” said Sherri Owles, Board Vice-President. “Our first thought was to have a concert, featuring a well-known group. I was excited to be able to secure the Spin Doctors for our inaugural event. Nothing brings people together more than the joy of live music.”
“John Jay Homestead serves as the perfect backdrop for the Festival, with its open space, beautiful facades, and historical significance for our town,” said Brett Cameron, John Jay Homestead Board Member and member of destination 39.3. “We welcome everyone to come to the Homestead on October 15 and enjoy great music, food and experience the best
of Bedford.”
The event is free to the public with VIP packages available for preferred seating, parking, and meet-and-greet with the Spin Doctors. Paid parking is also available on the Homestead grounds. Proceeds for the Festival will help support ongoing beautification efforts in the Town as well as other community engagement events.
