Sobriety is experiencing a resurgence in America, as demand for non-alcoholic beverages is at a 3-year high through the first 7 months of 2021. This, according to a new data analysis from Pattern (a global ecommerce company).
Ahead of National Sober Day tomorrow (Sept. 14), the data science team at Pattern tracked consumer demand (or the number of people shopping for a given item during a given period) on Amazon for booze-less beverages during every day of 2019, 2020, and 2021 (so far) to understand how American shopping habits have shifted.
Here’s what they found:
- Demand for non-alcoholic drinks overall is up 60% year over year through the first 7 months of 2021.
- Demand for non-alcoholic beer is up 85% year over year during the same period.
- Demand for non-alcoholic wine and spirits is up 64% year over year.
