Romance movies have come a long way since the black and white days of Casablanca and Gone with the Wind. In the 21st century, we’ve seen some fantastic romance movies that have captured our hearts. There’s something for everyone, from sweeping epic love stories to cute romantic comedies. Here are my top 10 favorite romantic movies of the 21st century. Please note that this list is in no particular order. These are just 10 of my personal favorites!

1. The Notebook

This classic love story was released in 2004 and quickly became a fan favorite. The Notebook tells the story of Noah and Allie, two young lovers who World War II separates. Despite their separation, they never lose hope of reuniting and finally finding each other again in their later years. This movie is a must-watch for any romance fans!

2. The Princess Bride

This 1987 classic tells the story of a farmhand named Westley who goes on a daring quest to rescue his true love, Buttercup, from the clutches of an evil prince. Filled with sword fights, giants, and plenty of humor, this movie is sure to please everyone in your family! If you are looking for a Disney-sized adventure with real actors and human characters, The Princess Bride is the movie you should bet on.

3. Titanic

This movie is both heartwarming and heartbreaking and will definitely tug at your heartstrings.

5. The Fault in Our Stars

This 2014 movie tells the story of Hazel Grace Lancaster, a teenage girl with cancer, and Augustus Waters, another teenager who is also fighting cancer. Despite their illnesses, the two fall in love and share an unforgettable adventure together. The Fault in Our Stars is an incredibly moving film that will make you laugh and cry in equal measure.

6. 500 Days of Summer

7. Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman is a 1990 romantic comedy-drama film directed by Garry Marshall. The story follows Vivian Ward, a prostitute who is hired by Edward Lewis, a wealthy businessman, to be his escort for a week. What starts out as a strictly business arrangement eventually becomes something more as the two get to know each other. This movie is charming, funny, and heartwarming, and it’s no wonder that it’s become such a classic.

Love Actually is a 2003 British romantic comedy film written and directed by Richard Curtis. The movie tells the story of nine couples in London who all deal with various issues in their relationships. Love Actually is one of those rare movies that are perfect for both date night and family movie night. It’s funny, heartwarming, and will make you feel all the feels.

Eat Pray Love is a beautiful and inspiring movie that will make you want to travel the world. It’s also one of my favorite movies to watch when I’m feeling down.

10. A Star Is Born

A Star Is Born is a 2018 American musical romantic drama film produced and directed by Bradley Cooper and written by Eric Roth, Cooper, and Will Fetters. It stars Lady Gaga, Cooper, and Andrew Dice Clay. The film tells the story of a hard-working musician named Jackson Maine (Cooper) who discovers and falls in love with a talented but struggling singer named Ally (Gaga). A Star Is Born is a fantastic movie that will make you fall in love with music all over again.
