On September 20th at 4pm, Rise Above Floatation is celebrating it’s grand opening with a dance party starring Dj Jonathan Toubin
The party is being held in the parking lot of their center at the Elephant’s Trunk building at 111 East Main St in Mt. Kisco, and will be held at the end of the 2015 Mt. Kisco Sidewalk Sale Day, which is, traditionally, a big draw for the town.
The dance party will be featuring international DJ superstar Jonathan Toubin of the legendary Soulclap and Dance-off party, the only soul dance party to have had an entire night dedicated to it at Lincoln Center Midsummer Night Swing and at SXSW. His energetic dance party sets consists of tightly juxtaposed obscure 1950s and 1960s Rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and soul 45s, which the New York Times describes as “cleaner and more appreciative of American pop music history than much of the rest.” Rolling Stone magazine has called him “the most liked man in soul music.”
There will be drinks and food provided by local vendors and we will be having float give-aways and special deals throughout the weekend and at the party. Rise Above will also be hosting tours of their unique float rooms throughout the day.
In an industry that is exploding around the world, Rise Above Floatation is the first and only relaxation center using the science of floatation therapy in Westchester County, NY.
Rise Above’s float rooms are designed to remove any stimulus from the outside world, relieving the floater of stress on a conscious and subconscious level. During a session, the floater bobs on top of 10 inches of a supersaturated Epsom salt solution to reduce the effects of the forces of gravity on joints and muscles, while the air and water are set to the body’s skin temperature to minimize the body’s homeostatic response. The tanks are insulated from both sound and light. These rooms relieve stress on a conscious and sub-conscious level, providing a multitude of scientifically proven benefits from increased awareness to accelerated physical recovery.
