At Guild & Grange we support artisans who work with their hands to create one-of-a-kind, functional design-oriented wares/objects using traditional, experimental & modern techniques. Artisans are masters of their craft and create goods such as ceramics, textiles, jewelry, hats, furniture, glassware, and more! Over the course of three days in mid-May an assembly of artisans from the Hudson Valley region and beyond will gather in an open-air marketplace on the bucolic rolling meadows at John Jay Homestead in Katonah, NY just an hour north of New York City. Guild & Grange introduces some of our region’s finest artisans to those looking to fill their homes and spaces with unique, locally made craft wares.
Visitors are invited to shop a range of skillfully made one-of-a-kind products, purchase culinary treats from some of our area’s best food trucks, enjoy musical performances by local bands, collaborate in a community art installation, and come together for presentations and demonstrations for the whole family including gardening, winemaking, beekeeping and raising chickens.
The marketplace will include ceramics, textiles, jewelry, furniture, hardware, wood, glassware, soaps, candles, and more made by artisans spanning from Brooklyn through the Hudson Valley from the Catskills to the Berkshires.
The weekend will also serve as a showcase for a remarkable community of talented musicians that have settled in our area featuring bands from School of Rock, Shovel Ready String Band, Fenton Sullivan and Pete Campbell from Horseshoe Farms.
The Friday evening ticketed Preview Party will include a selection of woodfired pizza and fresh salads from Bailey’s Backyard based in Ridgefield, CT; beer from Mt Kisco based Captain Lawrence Brewery and an assortment of locally sourced wines selected by Folkways Wines in North Salem.
