Does Thin Really Taste Better?

I’m a food influencer. I literally make a living eating, recommending, and celebrating food.

So here’s the tea. I’m on Zepbound — did you really think in my 60s I suddenly got the urge to say no to carbs? Hilarious. 😂

Food just doesn’t hit the same. Not in a bad way — more like, “eh, I’m good” halfway through what used to be my favorite meal.

Meanwhile, I still love going out. I love restaurants, the noise, the energy, the people watching. What I don’t love? My husband giving me the look when I don’t clean my plate. He grew up in the “finish everything or no dessert” generation. Me? I’m in my “I’ll take this home and eat it… maybe… next Thursday” era.

But here’s the part I do love: watching that scale go down like it’s my new favorite show on Netflix. 📉✨

The Real Talk: Going Out ≠ Eating Everything

For me, dinner out used to be about the food. Appetizer, entrée, dessert — and yes, maybe a little bread basket action.

Now? It’s about the experience. I don’t have to inhale the entire menu to have a good time. I can sip my drink, take a few bites, and still live my best life.

And honestly, I’m not apologizing for it. If someone’s mad I didn’t finish my fries… guess what? They’re free to finish them for me. Problem solved.

Breaking Up With the Clean Plate Club

There’s this weird pressure to prove you had a good time by finishing everything in front of you.

Newsflash: I can have fun without needing to be rolled out of the restaurant like a meatball. 🍝

I’m learning to say, “No thanks, I’m full,” without the guilt. No TED Talk required. No five-paragraph explanation. Just… full.

Thin Might Not Taste Better — But It Feels Pretty Damn Good

Listen, I’m not saying thin is the goal for everyone. I’m saying feeling good is the goal for me. And right now, watching that number creep down while still living my social life? Kinda delicious.

So no, thin doesn’t “taste” better.
But skipping the bread basket regret?
Priceless.
