Do You Mix Your Metals?

Some rules are meant to be broken – or at least stretched. Maximize the pieces sitting in your jewelry box by layering them.

You can easily wear gold, silver and rose gold together just keep in mind which colors look best with your skin tone.

Combine real and costume jewelry and couple it with old and new pieces.  You can pile it on but, like most things in life, it’s all about balance.

Mix metals and mix textures.  Focus on one statement.  For example: Try a big classic watch and stack some bangles but soften with your chain-linked bracelets of different sizes.

Keep a color theme and then add one or two of another metal for interest without making it too “costumey.”  You want to keep it fun and sophisticated not like you dipped into your daughter’s costume basket.

Last but never least, diamonds are fair game…they work with any metal of course!
