Dig in to Local Food at the Bedford 2020 Food Forum on March 4th! This will be a major community event to celebrate Hudson Valley food, farming and cooking, and to “dig in” to issues around food like sustainability, climate change, equity, and avoiding food waste. You don’t want to miss it!
In addition to 20 workshops, an interactive expo with 75 exhibitors, and a delicious lunch by Ladle of Love, you will hear two keynote addresses by food world “rock stars,” Mark Bittman, NY Times journalist and author of 20 acclaimed books, and Michel Nischan, Wholesome Wave founder and 3x James Beard Award winning chef!
Workshop speakers include Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, Crabtree’s Kittlehouse Chef Jay Lippin, Chef Quint Smith of FarmtoTable.US, Steve Mancini of Restaurant North, and from Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, Food and Water Watch, the Culinary Institute of America, local farmers, hunger-relief organizations, gardening experts, bee and chicken farmers, local food advocates, health and wellness gurus, and more!
The Interactive Expo involves hands-on displays and featuring an indoor famer’s market, cooking demonstrations by top area chefs, a pop-up book store, gardening and composting demonstrations, and lively interaction around food, health, mindful eating, sustainable food systems, food justice, advocacy, food waste and more.
