Disclosure: Capretta hosted our dinner. These are my own thoughts and favorites.
Scarsdale has a new pretty girl in town, and her name is Capretta. My friend Rebecca (@standupfoodie) and I went all in, and now I have a list of things I want to order again. Starting with the potatoes. Yes, the potatoes.
Capretta is from Z Hospitality Group, the team behind Mediterraneo and Terra. If those names are already in your dinner rotation, here's another one to add to the list.
Our favorites of the night
Parmesan Crusted Halibut. The menu calls it Parmesan Crusted West Coast Halibut, served with tomatoes and chives beurre blanc.
Roast chicken. One of our favorites, and I'm keeping it on the list.
Braised Boneless Short Ribs. Don't skip them. They come with potato pave, horseradish mascarpone and pickled shallot. I would go back just for the potatoes that came with the short ribs.
Detroit pizza. Pepperoni, cherry peppers, roasted garlic and spicy honey. This made our favorites list, too.
Endive & Chicory salad. Black mission figs, walnuts, Piave Vecchio cheese and white balsamic. Yes, we remembered the salad.
And the cocktails? Next level.
The cocktails deserve their own mention. When I was putting the reel together, I kept asking for more of them on screen. They are next level. There are plenty of seats at the bar, too, if that's your kind of dinner plan.
My return order? The short ribs and those potatoes are already decided. The rest may require another night with Rebecca.
