Bennet Schwartz shares How to Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking

Public speaking is a daunting task for many people, especially in the 21st century. With so many social media outlets and digital communities, it’s difficult to feel that you can be your true self without being judged or ridiculed. Don’t worry; Bennet Schwartz shares will give you five steps on how to get over your fear of public speaking!

1) First, you need to understand that there is nothing wrong with being nervous.

This isn’t your fault, and it doesn’t mean that you aren’t good enough or prepared enough for this task. Nerves are just a reaction in our bodies when we feel out of our comfort zone. There’s nothing wrong with that! It means you’re human. So embrace it, and then use this natural adrenaline rush to your advantage by directing the energy towards success during the speech!

2) Get rid of any negative thoughts about public speaking

We can’t control the outside factors of our lives, but we do have total control over our inner dialogue. Are you thinking about how nervous and anxious you are? Or are you reminding yourself that it’s okay to be a little bit scared because this is something new for everyone as they become more experienced speakers? This will make your life easier if, instead of focusing on all of the things that could go wrong during your speech, focus on what makes YOU special and unique! Then share those qualities with the audience through your voice or body language!

They can’t read minds, after all, so don’t hold anything back from them! Letting people in has never been an issue for me, so I use that to my advantage.

3) Being yourself is the best thing you can do in your life!

You have unique qualities and experiences that others haven’t had before. And while it may not be possible for everyone right away, don’t let public speaking hold you back from being true to who YOU are as a person. It’s always better to try your best and fail than never trying at all.

So stick with them even if they don’t work out perfectly every time. That’s okay too! You will learn so much about yourself through failure as long as you choose not to give up after each mistake. And remember: Everyone makes mistakes, whether small or large, as long as you learn from those experiences, then there is nothing to worry about! Just keep learning new things every day of your life, no matter how big or small they are.

4) Get out of your comfort zone

As humans, we grow the most when our minds are pushed beyond their limits. When you feel like you’ve hit that plateau in life where nothing is changing anymore, go outside of your comfort zone! That’s how you’re going to learn something new about yourself and create memories that will last a lifetime. The possibilities for growth become endless after this step, so don’t let fear stop you from getting out there and experiencing everything possible while also being true to who YOU are as an individual!

No one can see what I do behind closed doors alone with my thoughts without physically seeing me every day. So share those moments with other people by keeping them real at all times. Everyone needs someone else in their lives.

I’m not perfect, and I never will be, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try my hardest to better myself while also helping others in the process! How do you get over your fear of public speaking? Share in the comments below, or write about it on your blog post today!
