Anti Aging Products, Foods and Tips to Make Your Skin Glow This Spring

Have you ever looked at Rhianna, Emma Stone or Amy Childs pics and wondered how your favourite celebs keep looking so fresh even after a busy day? The quest for a natural, youthful glow is now easier than ever to obtain as technology within the beauty industry advances. Here is a comprehensive guide of foods, tips and new products in the beauty market to keep you feeling at your best.

Foods

Swap your butter or margarine (which are high in saturated and trans fats) for olive oil. Olive oil contains omega-3 fatty acids which reduces inflammation and lowers your cholesterol. Olive oil also improves skin circulation and boosts your digestive system. This promotes heart health alongside keeping you trim.

Perfect with a salad or by itself as a snack, an avocado also contains high levels of omega 3. They are also very high in vitamin E which is responsible for youthful, glowing skin, gleaming locks and fighting off those fine lines.

Tomatoes are also a great anti-aging ingredient as they contain the magical natural chemical, lycopene. Lycopene protects the skin from the oxidant in UV exposure that results in the skin becoming burnt, which then leads to wrinkles. Team the tomatoes in a salad or pasta with olive oil (mentioned above) to help you absorb higher levels of  lycopene for a skin care boost.

Products

A new anti-aging product is being advertised to mainstream audiences this year. Marked as Prolastil E-50, the products act to increase the amount of elastin in the skin. The main cause of wrinkles is the decline of this elastin in the skin as over the years the skin is exposed to UV exposure, chemicals and general wear and tear. This loss of elastin was previously thought to be irreversible, but these new products – which have been described as an alternative to Botox – cross-link with collagen under the skin to expand the extra cellular structure. Prolastil, which is already used by the professionals, will be coming to beauty mags soon.

Well respected beauty brand Renu Derma has recently introduced a new product to their organic skincare line. Its new Wrinkle Repair Moisturiser will have the added ingredient of organic beeswax from Caucasian bees, named after their place of origin around Georgia. The beautifying secrets of beeswax have been documented as far back as the 15th century. The ingredient offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral benefits for users and creams and soaps containing beeswax have been proven to improve dryer, rougher skin.

Tips:

#1 When applying foundation or concealer, instead of applying in a thick layer in the hopes of covering any fine line and dry area, apply thinly and evenly to reduce creasing and let your skin breathe. If you are blessed with unproblematic skin, try applying just a loose powder or concealer to just your problem areas.

#2 The eyes are the first area of the face to show signs of aging. The skin around the eye area is delicate and fragile so always treat this area gently to maintain the suppleness of the skin and prevent premature sagging. As you get older, replace thicker eye creams with lighter eye gels to reduce puffiness and water retention.

I believe wrinkle creams that are made from natural ingredients are the best since there’s almost zero chances of getting side-effects by using them. Whether a cream is effective or not depends on the concentration of the ingredients. So picking up the right product makes all the difference. Doesn’t mean it has to be expensive though.
