After 40 Summers in the Hamptons, These Are the June Events Actually Worth Leaving the House For

Hamptons

Let’s be honest: June in the Hamptons can be a little chaotic.

The weather is unpredictable. One minute you’re in cashmere by the firepit, the next minute you’re sitting in traffic wearing linen and regretting every life choice.

And then there are the June weddings. So many June weddings.

But despite the drizzle, the RSVP fatigue, and everyone pretending they’re “just doing low-key weekends this summer,” you know you cannot wait to start Hamptoning again.

Because June in the Hamptons still has something magical about it.

The hydrangeas are starting to bloom. Reservations are still somewhat possible. The crowds haven’t fully descended yet. And there’s this feeling that summer is just beginning.

As someone who has spent at least 40 summers out East, I feel qualified to tell you: these are the June events actually worth leaving the house for.

1. Taste of Westhampton Beach

If you love food, cocktails, and running into everyone you know under one giant tent, the Southforker Taste of Westhampton Beach is always one of the best nights of the month.

Unlimited tastings, great energy, dancing, and peak Hamptons people-watching.

2. Hamptons Handbag Festival

The Hamptons Handbag Festival sounds less like an event and more like a personal attack on my credit card.

Designer, vintage, and luxury handbags all in one place? Honestly, this is my Olympics.

3. World Cup Viewing at Calissa

Watching the World Cup at Calissa on their massive outdoor screen feels very “summer 2026.”

Beautiful crowd, great cocktails, and one of those places where everyone suddenly looks like they’re starring in a resort wear campaign.

4. Palm Tree Music Festival

Palm Tree Music Festival is basically where summer Instagram goes to live.

Expect music, dancing, influencers, sunset photos, and at least one person saying, “Wait, take another — my eyes were closed.”

5. Arts & Crafts Fair in Sag Harbor

The Sag Harbor Arts & Crafts Fair is classic Hamptons in the best possible way.

A slower-paced weekend strolling by the water, shopping handmade jewelry, skincare, art, and finding things you absolutely did not know you needed.

6. Hamptons Pride at LongHouse Reserve

Hamptons Pride hosting their annual fundraiser at LongHouse Reserve combines everything the Hamptons does well: art, cocktails, music, community, and a stunning setting.

7. The U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills

Even if golf is not your thing, the U.S. Open Golf Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is iconic.

And honestly? The people-watching and golf fashion alone make it worth it.

My Hamptons Hot Takes After 40 Summers

  • June is secretly better than August.
  • Hamptoning is absolutely a verb.
  • Everyone says they’re “keeping it chill this summer” right before attending four parties in one weekend.
  • A giant tote bag is essential survival equipment.
  • The Hamptons before July 4th are elite.
  • Rosé east of Canal Street simply tastes different.

And despite the weather forecasts, wedding weekends, and traffic reports… there’s still nowhere else I’d rather be in June.

See you out East.
