Westchester Land Trust (WLT) is thrilled to supply neighbors and fellow community members at the Community Center of Northern Westchester with fresh  fruits and veggies from their half-acre Sugar Hill Farm headquarters!

Over the years, WLT’s Sugar Hill Farm garden has produced thousands of pounds of produce that has been distributed to those in need throughout our region. It’s no secret that volunteers are an essential part of the program’s success.

Join Westchester Land Trust, the Town of Lewisboro and Lewisboro Library for an evening walk through Old Field Preserve, learning all about the animals that come out to explore during the twilight hours! They will be reading “The Wonderful Habits of Rabbits” by Douglas Florian. A flashlight, and a sturdy pair of shoes are highly recommended for this outdoor adventure!

So, you want a lovely, nature-friendly garden, but not sure where to start? Come participate in a live demonstration at Westchester Land Trust’s Sugar Hill Farm with Amanda Bayley from PLAN it WILD and see the step-by-step process in real time!  She will present on habitat gardening, replacing lawn turf with native plants, and how to easily plant a habitat patch in your yard.

WLT will also be on hand share habitat tips and info about Pollinator Pathway, a collaboration between local residents, municipalities,  and conservation organizations, focused on establishing habitat and food sources for pollinating insects and wildlife.
