Sick of your job? Want to start your own business? Facing an empty nest? Starting a new relationship or leaving an old one? Interested in matters of the mind and body? Need new technology skills? Join 200 women who will gather at Manhattanville College on April 16 for betterafter50.com’s (BA50) She Did It/New York, a one-day event that brings together experts on these topics, networking opportunities and keynote addresses.
BA50’s She Did It events are for women choosing to make a difference in their own lives. The seminars and workshops provide a way for betterafter50.com, the weekly online magazine and newsletter for women creating the next phase of their lives, to directly engage with its members and bring them the tools they need to propel their lives into the next phase, fulfill their dreams and create their own legacy.
Keynote speakers Marci Alboher and Barbara Hannah Grufferman will set the tone for the day. Alboher is the former “Shifting Careers” columnist for the New York Times, vice president at Encore.org, and author of The Encore Career Handbook: How to Make a Living and a Difference in the Second Half of Life. Barbara Hannah Grufferman is a nationally recognized expert on healthy and positive aging and the author of The Best of Everything After 50: The Experts’ Guide to Style, Sex, Health, Money and More.
Whether they are building a new business, reconnecting with their inner artist, caring for aging parents and adult children, getting divorced or remarried, or seeking an entirely new adventure, BA50 women are taking charge of their futures. They use betterafter50.com as a platform through which to learn and inspire each other as well as gain knowledge from experts in technology, health, business, beauty, and finance. An interactive site that encourages women to share their ideas, information and feelings, BA50 brings women together to think, laugh and cry about topics of the heart, mind and soul, as they would while sitting with a good friend over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
BA50s will leave She Did It/New York inspired and with the necessary information and action items to take the next steps. The event, sponsored by White Plains Hospital and Verizon, will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $95 and include lunch. Sponsorships at the highest level are already sold out. To register to attend the event:
