For the seventh consecutive year, on the second Saturday in July, Pleasantville, a village of 7 ,000 inhabitants will transform Parkway Field on Marble Avenue and its baseball diamonds, football and soccer fields into mid-Westchester’s version of Woodstock (without the mud). The Pleasantville

Music Festival has grown from a folksy spot with a pop-out Airstream stage into a vibrant venue hosting more than 6,000 visitors and 20 bands on 3 stages.  Gates open at noon and music continues until 8:45 PM with an emphasis on  Hudson Valley and tri-State talent showcasing original music. The PEAK, 107.1 Radio, World Class Rock for New York’s Backyard, returns as the festival main sponsor for the 6th consecutive year, and Westchester Medical Center signs on for its first stay.


They have hosted Jakob Dylan, The Bacon Brothers, Joan Osborne, Rusted Root, Carney (featuring Reeve Carney who is currently playing Spiderman on Broadway), Davey Knowles, Dar Williams and Roger McGuinn. The lineup for July 9, 2011 includes Marc Cohn (Walking In Memphis), Sonny Landreth, Augustana, Nicole Atkins and the Black Sea, Scars on 45, Chris Fox and Mojo Monde, If But When, Remember September, Milton, Lisa Brigantino and SkyFactor.

Captain Lawrence Brewery and Prospero Winery, both located in the Village, sell refreshments in the beer and wine garden that has a stage where Reignjah, a Caribbean band from Yonkers, Patti Rothberg, and  Pleasantville’s Geoff Hartwell, a slide guitar virtuoso with a national reputation will play alternating sets.

More than 40 vendors including Nuttin’ to It, the festival’s caterer, Opus 465, Linekin’s Kettle Corn, Lucio’s,  Pleasantville Pizza, Tom’s Dogs and Cold Stone Creamery are on site. “Miss Patti” Hupp plays music for kids and Fun Time Amusements and Club Fit of Briarcliff keeps them active.

Girls Inc. of Westchester, the festival’s charitable partner will be raffling off cool stuff all day and providing information about how their programs help girls build self-esteem and learn positive life skills.
