King Street Studios is continuing to develop their selection of online class offerings. Doing this give them as a small business a way to continue to run, pay their instructors, and be able to support our community with creativity and connectivity.
They ran 4 classes via ZOOM last week, and it was really nice to work together with others from the safety of our homes and studios. Everyone can see one another, talk, create, and get the same one on one instruction from our teachers.
Like their studio classes these online sessions are perfect for all level and great for families during this time of social distancing and home schooling.
CLASSES FOR THE WEEK OF 3/23:
CINDY SACKS – THURSDAY 1-3pm
Watercolor for all! This ONLINE version of Cindy’s popular class is designed to develop the painting skills of artists at every level of experience in a congenial online ZOOM classroom so we can work together. Cindy will explore a traditional and experimental approaches! A still life will be set up for the group to paint together.
DAVID FOX
Interpreting the Old Masters ~ Monday Noon-2pm
Each class we will send you a drawing by one of the Old Masters. David will break down the anatomy and look at how the technique serves the form and the drawing itself.
Students will work in drawing or paint and will learn how the masters use line and shading to create powerful human forms. Students may work at a scale they feel is appropriate for their own environment, so working small or large is a personal choice.
David will demonstrate where possible to show how to achieve dynamic and realistic forms and work alongside you in real time and do his regular demos.
Contemporary Painting ~ Wednesday 1-3pm
Students work on set projects and/or their own agenda. Painting in real-time, students will get feedback in real-time just as they would in a class setting. Contemporary trends in painting and art will be introduced and discussed as well as applied to their own work. David will show some of his own work as well as demonstrate techniques where it is appropriate. Students can choose to work in Paint, Pastel, Watercolor.
Drawing from the Masters ~ Friday 10-Noon
Each class we will send you a drawing by one of the Old Masters. David will break down the anatomy and look at how the technique serves the form and the drawing itself.
Students will copy the drawing and will learn how the master uses line and shading to create powerful human forms. Students may work at a scale they feel is appropriate for their own environment, so working small or large is a personal choice.
David will demonstrate where possible to show how to achieve dynamic and realistic forms as he works alongside you in real time and will do his regular demonstrations.
ONCE YOU REGISTER WE WILL SEND YOU A LINK TO THE VIRTUAL CLASSROOM
All you will need to do is down load the app and when you are ready click the link and you will join up with fellow students and the instructor for the class.
