The Equinox Gym in Scarsdale hold special meaning for Thru My Eyes because of one of its former members, Dede Frontera. In 2010, Dede was losing her battle to breast cancer. She expressed the desire to leave video messages for her young daughter but could not find an organization that could provide those charitable services.
The mission of our organization stems from Dede’s wish: to help young parents with life-threatening illnesses create free clinically guided video legacies for their children and loved ones in the privacy of their own homes. Our service relies entirely on charitable donations, grants and fundraisers, like today’s fundraiser at the gym. 100% of the money donated will go towards helping parents create these videos. The Equinox gym has been generous enough to hold not only our first fundraiser but also today’s event as well. We thank all of Staff and Members of the Equinox Gym for their support!
The mission of “Thru My Eyes” is to provide free in-home, clinically guided videos for individuals with a life-threatening medical illness, who want to leave legacies for their children or other loved ones, regardless of their financial means.
Thru My Eyes fundraiser will be held April 21st at the Equinox from 12-3
Bootcamp, yoga and inside out classes going on starting at 12:15.
There is entertainment and lunch being served to the children and lunch being served to the adults donated by Ruffled Feathers of Scarsdale.
Silent auction items include several 3 month memberships to the Equinox as well as spa treatments and gift certificates to the store
There are 50 yd. line tickets to a Jets Pre-season home game as well as theater tickets, autographed paraphernalia, and a host of gift certificates to local restaurants. Look out for a surprise guest, but I cannot say anything at the moment! 1
