Jean George at The Inn at Pound Ridge

How excited am I to finally have a hot spot in my hood!!!!! Northern Westchester has a new hot spot.

Jean George has painstakingly renovated The Inn at Pound Ridge formerly Emily Shaw’s into a magnificent, sexy farm to table destination restaurant.

With  two full bars, a wine cellar for private dining, and two dining rooms. There’s also a chef’s table in the kitchen. This is the place will delight all.

I was genuinely happy to return to the Inn as it has been closed for  more than two years.

The building that houses the restaurant was originally built as a residence in 1833, but Vongerichten has fully restored it, keeping the original footprint and four working fireplaces. There are two dining areas — a main room upstairs and a more intimate downstairs area a great private room with stone floors and plenty of nooks to get cozy in.

Start with the Cucumber Mint Martini.  Have 2!

For appetizers you can’t go wrong with the beet salad, Baby Beets with Yogurt, Balsamic Vinegar and Herbs, or my favorite so far Fresh Angel Hair with Caramelized Brussels Sprouts and Basil-Pistachio Pesto.

It seems today that Pizza and Burgers needs to be on every menu.    That being said order the Black Truffle and Fontina pizza.  There is nothing that I love more than fontina.

Scallops, Hake, Prosciutto Wrapped Berkshire Pork, Bacon Gruyere Grass Fed Burger,  as well as

Parmesan Crusted Organic Chicken, give more than enough choices to satisfy a large crowd.

Complete you meal with doughnuts and apple pie with cinnamon ice cream.

And don’t forget to bring friends.
