How to look your Best even with Mommy Stress

Being a mom can be incredibly stressful. Your mornings, once spent catching up on your Facebook feed, exercising, and getting ready for work, are now spent running around to make sure all your kids are ready before anything else. There’s not a lot of time for you. If you’re not careful, this stress can catch up, and you can look and feel like a mom who has 20 kids even if you’re a mom who has just two. Fortunately, there are a few easy steps you can take to modify your routine so that you look great and feel great, too. Carve out a few minutes each day for yourself and try these four tips.

Find Multistep Products to Shorten Your Routine

It’s all right if you don’t have the time to prep, wash, moisturize, and firm your skin every night. Not only does that use a lot of products, but it also takes time to apply and set all those creams. Instead of skipping them, however, look for products that offer multiple options in one so that you’re done in a few minutes. For example, many shaving creams and face washes also have moisturizers, so you don’t have to worry about competing products.

Furthermore, limiting the number of products you use on your face will help you troubleshoot issues if you do start breaking out, letting you figure out which cream is causing the problem or irritating your skin.

Get Outside and Play With Your Kids

Some people worry that sweating from exercise will result in more breakouts, or at least a greasy hue to the skin. However, the benefits far outweigh any potentially clogged pores. Exercise reduces stress, increases blood flow, and reduces toxins in your skin. This will leave you with a healthy glow and happier skin. If sweat is an issue, you can just wash your face after your activities.

As a mom, you’re probably already running around throughout the day, chasing your kids and moving them from school to afternoon activities. However, getting them into the back yard or your neighborhood park to play and joining in with them can benefit all of you. Your children will be healthier and enjoy family bonding time, and you will get to relax and play with your kids.

Pamper Your Face Before Bed

Most women remove their makeup and wash their face with the same excitement they exhibit when brushing their teeth: It’s viewed as a simple chore to get through before bed. Instead of rushing through this, turn it into a few quiet minutes to yourself. Look for lavender-scented face wash and other beauty products from Amway that provide calming aromatherapy to your body, and invest in extra-fluffy towels to warm and dry your face. This will leave you feeling clean and pampered before bed.

There’s an extra benefit to creating an evening “spa treatment.” Following the same bedtime routine every night tells your body that it’s time for bed, which means that over time, you will fall asleep more quickly. Those few minutes add up, and they can leave you more rested to take on another day.

Sunscreen Isn’t Just for the Beach

The sun can cause long-term damage to your skin, from lines and wrinkles to sun spots and even cancer. Although you might enjoy your tan today, tomorrow you could be paying the price. Furthermore, the sun doesn’t go away just because it’s not hot outside. You’re up against the elements all year round, even in the winter.  Make sure you’re investing in makeup and skincare products that are at least SPF 15. This will prevent your face from aging early and giving you a wrinkled look later in life.

You don’t need to have a full-time nanny and endless hours of free time in which to pamper your skin for you to look your best as a mom. You just have to carefully plan what you’re going to use and when you’re going to take time for yourself. By setting aside a few minutes each day, you’re loving your body, and it will love you back. Soon all the other moms will be jealous of your healthy skin and radiant glow.
