The exhibit will run from October 14 – November 28, 2020, with an opening reception consisting of private 20-minute interval appointments on Saturday, October 17th until 8 pm.
“I am delighted to continue to operate the gallery safely and am so proud to present the wonderful work of Katonah resident Rachel White,” said CB gallery owner Christopher Brescia. Safety measures and adherence to CDC protocols will be taken to protect the health and well-being of all visitors. Masks are required and the gallery will be cleaned in between appointments.
“Chromatic Variations,” is a show comprised of White’s highly stylized and vibrant color field paintings that focus largely on gravity, transparency, and depth. “I had a eureka moment when I was seeking a way to make paint strokes that create a color field rather than a gestural stroke I decided to use a putty knife I had just used to repair water damage to my studio,” White explains, “Over the of the last year my color pallet exploded as I became more and more inspired by the natural world around, the new leaves, the daffodils, the springtime colors everywhere,” she added.
“It wasn’t until High School that I realized I wanted to be an artist,” White says, “brought up mostly in the west by a military father and artist mother, I lived in a constant state of change but once I took that class, that was it!” “With the encouragement of my art teacher and under the mentorship of my mother, I was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and after that, I was awarded a full-tuition Graduate Fellowship to Alfred University where I focused on sculpture, installation, digital media, and printmaking. ” She adds. After a stint working in the luxury beauty marketing space, White jumped back into creating artwork.
“Rachel is a multi-disciplined artist we are truly blessed to have in the community” Owner, Christopher Brescia says. “When she showed me her latest work, I knew I had to give her a show” he adds. “Her color choices are magnificent and her creativity knows no bounds”.

About CB Gallery:
Named 2019’s Best New Art Gallery in Westchester Magazine, Christopher Brescia opened the CB Gallery space in January 2019 in the charming downtown of Katonah, NY. The mission of the gallery is to offer Westchester and Connecticut residents as well as visitors and weekenders living in the community, something new and different in terms of contemporary artwork unlike anything else being offered in the area. All artist exhibitions feature paintings, photography, drawings, and sculpture depending on the show. Christopher believes art truly enhances your living space and gives a home life, personality, and soul, and that just because you have a traditional house, does not mean you have to own traditional artwork. In addition, CB Gallery offers in-home art consultation appointments where he will evaluate your current collection and make recommendations on existing and new art purchases.
