“I am delighted to continue to operate the gallery safely and so looking forward to seeing even more collectors as the vaccines roll out. I’m so glad the world is gradually opening up because that means I can share this awesome show by Ned Snider with more of the world!” said CB gallery owner Christopher Brescia. Safety measures and adherence to CDC protocols will be taken to protect the health and well-being of all visitors. Masks are required.

Ned Snider grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and after getting his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI he moved to New York City for a few years and is currently residing with his wife Marina and daughter Simone in Katonah. Ned is a visual artist working in the intersection of many disciplines including printmaking, painting, writing, and graphic design. His work exists as the confluence of conceptual art, graphic art, and abstraction.

This current work established itself in the fall of 2019. A combination of small pieces of locally sourced wood mounted on raw linen and then accentuated with acrylic, flashe paint in tandem with cotton thread and framed in artist-built frames that not only compliment the pieces but sometimes are incorporated in, acting as an extension of the composition. “The organic quality of the branches that have fallen to the ground combined with the hard edges of the paint offers up a formal tension that is the main component to the conceptual part of this work,” Snider says, “The pieces represent the push and pull between the natural and the technocentric worlds.” “Furthermore,” he continues, “This work in some ways, is a continuation of my investigations involving space, vessels, information, and transference.”

“When I first saw these works, they knocked me off my feet,” CB Gallery owner Christopher Brescia says, “I’d never seen anything like these – feelings of calm and joy rush over you as you gaze at this combination of tiny pieces of nature with an extremely well thought out color processes – it’s indescribable.” “I have represented Ned’s 2D work,” Brescia adds, “And having placed some wonderful commission pieces in private homes in the area, this is somewhat of a departure where the previous work engaged the typography as its muse, these new sculptural abstractions are breath of fresh air.” Adding as a side note – “Every collector I’ve previewed this work, has flipped!”

CB Gallery will host a reception by appointment for “Self-Titled” in twenty-minute increments on Saturday, April 10th from 2-6 pm. Please contact the gallery at 917- 520-3234 to schedule your private viewing on April 10th – or walk-in gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 am-5pm.

About CB Gallery:

Named 2019’s Best New Art Gallery in Westchester Magazine, Christopher Brescia opened the CB Gallery space in January 2019 in the charming downtown of Katonah, NY. The mission of the gallery is to offer Westchester and Connecticut residents as well as visitors and week-enders living in the community, something new and different in terms of contemporary artwork unlike anything else being offered in the area.   All artist exhibitions feature paintings, photography, drawings, and sculpture depending on the show.  Christopher believes art truly enhances your living space and gives a home life, personality and soul and that just because you have a traditional house, does not mean you have to own traditional artwork.  In addition, CB Gallery offers in-home art consultation appointments where he will evaluate your current collection and make recommendations on existing and new art purchases.
