Between hours scrolling through your phone or crippling anxiety over the past two years, a blissful 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep can be hard to come by these days. With National Sleep Week starting on March 13th, I wanted to introduce you to Pursoma, a female-owned, clean wellness beauty brand focused on soaking. Pursoma’s bath soaks help to relax the body, ease anxiety and promote a digital detox to set you up for an ideal night of restful sleep. If you’re working on any articles around ways to help promote sleep hygiene during National Sleep Week, Pursoma and its Founder Shannon Vaughn are a great resource for you.
Pursoma was born through its founder’s desire to show others how to alleviate stress and heal through the act of bathing. Her unusual journey in creating bath products stemmed from the traumatic effects of PTSD after a building exploded near her in Beirut, which left her with agonizing pain from ovarian cysts and stress over the possibility that she would never have children. Her subsequent research on natural healing modalities compelled her to seek out soaking, cleansing, and detoxifying baths as an alternative to surgery and medication.
From there, Shannon created her therapeutic detox soaks based on her experiences with holistic and Ayurvedic healing. She holds the trademark for “digital detox”. The ingredients used in Pursoma’s bath soaks are grown and sourced from Vaughn’s farm in Maryland, where she recently opened a wellness and manufacturing HQ right in what used to be a cornfield. All of Pursoma’s clean, cruelty-free ingredients are directly sourced from small privately-owned farms around the globe.
