In partnership with the Pine Bush UFO Fair and the Town of Crawford, Angry Orchard announced that it will host an Extra-terroirestrial Disco at its Cider House in Walden following the fair’s daytime events on Saturday, June 4. Beginning at 7 p.m., the event will celebrate the release of the Orchard’s latest beverages, Extra-terroirestrial Cider and Super Natural Cider. Attendees will receive a free can of cider and will have the opportunity to dance along to a funk disco DJ as well as enjoy live music, specialty tours, food trucks and more.
“We’re very happy to be teaming up with Angry Orchard in celebration of the Pine Bush UFO Fair,” said Charlie Carnes, town supervisor for the Town of Crawford. “This is our first corporate collaboration, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Both event teams are extremely talented, which will surely result in a fun, and successful celebration.”
Following the UFO Fair’s day of events, the Extra-terroirestrial Disco will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. across the Orchard. The Pine Bush UFO Fair Committee will transform the Orchard into an alien planet, complete with UFO décor and activities.
“This will be a truly one-of-a-kind event to Orange County,” said Amanda Dana, director of tourism & film at Orange County Tourism. “The Orchard’s extra-terroirestrial after party is the perfect way to commemorate ten years of the UFO Fair and bring the community together in an out-of-this-world way.”
The Orchard’s famous tree house, built by Animal Planet’s Tree House Masters will be open for guests to explore, and the Cider House will offer happenings such as trivia, caricature drawings, live music and a UFO Orchard Walk Tour, an experience for guests to be guided through the Orchard to learn about its history and the cider making process, but with a celestial twist.
Both the Extra-terrestrial Cider and the Super Natural Cider will be on tap, giving guests the chance to try the ciders’ otherworldly flavors. The Orchard’s Super Natural Cider was recently awarded a bronze medal in the Great American Cider Competition, which featured over 180 entries from 50 cideries around the world.
Tickets will be limited and can be purchased online for $15 per guest. All guests must be 21+ and will receive a can of cider and a glow stick upon arrival. The Orchard is located at 2241 Albany Post Road in Walden.
About Angry Orchard Cider Company:
The cider makers at Angry Orchard have been experimenting with apple varieties, ingredients and processes to develop hard cider recipes for more than 20 years. The cider makers have travelled the world to find the best apples for cider making and chose specific varieties based on each cider’s desired flavor profile. In fall 2015, Angry Orchard opened a new home for research and development on a historic 60-acre apple orchard in Walden, NY. There, the cider makers will continue to drive experimentation at the Innovation Cider House, and drinkers are welcome to visit for samples of exclusive ciders made on-site. Despite the recent growth of hard cider in the US, the category is still small and relatively unknown. Angry Orchard is committed to drinker education and awareness-building to help grow the category for all craft cider makers.
