Now that the weather has gotten colder our thoughts turn to yummy chunky knits. Local Chappaqua Artisan Jessica Meyrowitz is the answer to the winter blues. Her work is just Yummy!
How long have you been knitting?
I have been knitting a little over a year. One of my yoga teachers taught me.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I am inspired by the yarn. I love that It’s a…Yummy’s yarn is so unique and each piece I knit is so special and interesting – it keeps me inspired! I also truly love the creative process – taking something in one form and crafting it into another is very fulfilling.
What is your favorite thing to knit?
I love knitting my one of a kind pieces because you never know what you are going to get but I always know it will be Yummy!
What material do you like to use? What size are the needles? Can you explain what that means?
I only use It’s a…Yummy’s custom made 100% merino wool yarn because it is so soft and it is of such high quality. I use plastic size 50 circular needles to knit – which are easy on the hands and wrists and gives my products the loose knit.
How many hours do you spend knitting?
I spend at least 2 hours a day knitting.
Do you personally make everything on your website?
I personally have made all of my products.
Where can see your work?
My luxurious knits can be seen this season at various holiday boutiques and trunk shows. I will keep my appearances updated on facebook.com/itsayummy/ and/or you can email me at [email protected] for more information.
How do I get it?
Currently, the only way to place an order is directly with me. I can be contacted through email [email protected]
Can you teach me how to knit?
Throughout the year I do offer some exclusive knitting parties where I can teach you how to knit. The parties are very social and you leave with a new skill and a scarf that you knit!
Can I special order items? How long does it take to get delivery?
Delivery is typically 2-3 weeks. I will do special orders starting in January.
