Westchester’s bucolic cultural mecca, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, looks forward to its 73rd summer season (June 16-July 29), laying the groundwork for a revitalized future in 2018 even while continuing to present many audience favorites. Located in Katonah, NY, just 1 hour from NYC, Caramoor is a local gem for music and architecture enthusiasts with its classic Italianate architecture and manicured gardens, all set on a 90-acre property.

Caramoor throws open its gates and invites you to discover Inuksuit, by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer John Luther Adams. Performed by more than 60 percussionists and directed by Doug Perkins, Inuksuit calls for the audience to wander outside among musicians playing an incredible array of instruments including conch shells, sirens, gongs, bells, drums, cymbals, and glockenspiels, dispersed throughout the landscape.

Audiences are invited to come early and explore the beautiful grounds, tour the historic Rosen House, and on special Sundays enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea. Or unwind with a pre-concert picnic in one of their magnificent gardens.
The celebrated Westchester cultural paradise represents a hub for musical and artistic exploration, comprising seven summer weeks of opera, orchestral, chamber, jazz, world and American Roots music, family programs, young artist showcases, and sound artwork.
