Westcher’s Skinny Buddha Organic Kitchen Opens New Vegan, Gluten Free, Organic Cafe in Manhattan’s East Village

Skinny Buddha Organic Kitchen of Mount Kisco is thrilled to announce the opening of their brand new vegan cafe, in the East Village of Manhattan.

Back in 2010, Skinny Buddha co-owners Chef Elyce Jacobson, and boxer/trainer Shaka Taffawa teamed up to provide Westchester county with a fitness and food concept like no other. Fusing prepared meals with personal training programs was the start of the Skinny Buddha story. Nine years later, this award winning Westchester County duo, is expanding their popular vegan food brand with a new location, continuing their efforts to provide the most nutritious foods that are also delicious.

The new Skinny Buddha vegan cafe will offer convenient in-house seating, with quick grab & go options as well. The menu boasts everything from acai bowls & smoothies, to vegan burgers, wraps, veggie bowls, salads and baked goods. “Our two top priorities are taste, and ingredient quality, so we focus on creating organic, vegan recipes with a Skinny Buddha twist to them. We don’t like soupy Acai Bowls, so we have created a thicker and more flavorful version. We make our own vegan burger patties and serve them on our hand-rolled gluten free bagels. We complement all of our burgers with a side of one of our award winning salads,” says co-owner/ Chef Elyce Jacobson.

Skinny Buddha opened it’s first location in Mount Kisco, followed by a 2013 opening in Scarsdale, NY. “Our second location helped to fine tune our offerings in preparation for the big city.” “After winning numerous awards, year after year, we knew it was time to make the move,” says Taffawa.

“We want our customers to get the most value out of their food. Delicious food stays with you after you consume it through your thoughts, emotions and taste buds,” says Chef Elyce. “Nutritious food stays with you through how it makes you feel, look, and perform,” says Trainer Taffawa.

“We do our best to fuse both worlds using only the highest quality organic, and vegan products, to create valuable, flavorful food with love,” says Jacobson.

Skinny Buddha’s East Village Manhattan location will have a soft opening to the public on August 5th, 2019.
