Family Reach Foundation  helps families who have a child who has been diagnosed with cancer pay their everyday bills.  Not only do these families have to deal with about the worst news any parent could hear but in many many cases this diagnosis also causes massive financial strain.  In 35% of all these cases one parent must stop working to be with the child.  It’s scary when you ask the question “what happens when this family relies on two incomes?” or worse when it’s a single parent family.  Many families are devastated.  65% of all bankruptcies in the U.S. are related to medical bills and illness, with cancer sitting at the top.

What Family Reach Foundation does is work with social workers from hospitals ( who identify families in trauma who may not be able to pay rent, buy food, pay their car payments, pay for their everyday living expenses. In many cases FRF can get funding within one week to the families in need.  FRF will actually pay the approved bills directly providing immediate help and hope.

They have decided to do to help is create a leadership program where kids can join FRF and work together as teams with other kids to come up with creative ways to raise money to help these families in need.   With this in mind, we are holding an an event called “Reach for the Arts” on May 15th.  This is an event we’re local artists, including artists from our local schools are creating and donating artwork for sale.  The proceeds will go to help the families in desperate need.  Since we began three years ago we have raised approx. $200,000 and have expanded to four other local schools. Please join us in our event or if you’re unable to attend it would mean a lot if you could donate to our cause.
