Pink Martini Takes you Around The World and Back at The Ridgefield Playhouse on October 15

At one moment, you feel like you’re in the middle of a samba parade in Rio de Janeiro, and in the next moment, you’re in a French music hall of the 1930s or a palazzo in Napoli. A Pink Martini concert is “a bit like an urban musical travelogue” says founder/bandleader/pianist Thomas Lauderdale.  Lead singer China Forbes is monolingual but sings in 22 languages! Their seminal 1997 debut LP Sympathique became an international phenomenon. Pink Martini returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Monday, October 15 at 8pm, part of the Moffly Media Evening of Art, Wine & Jazz Series and the World Music Series and partially underwritten by Nutmeg Livery Service. Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world, this self-described “little orchestra” distills the genres of classical music, jazz, Latin music and old-fashioned pop into a smooth elixir, guaranteed to soothe the soul.
