Northern Westchester’s Cutting Edge Art Gallery to Open Group Show of Works on Paper Exhibition Featuring Five Amazing Artists.

CB Gallery, Katonah’s cutting-edge contemporary art gallery, is pleased to announce its next exhibition of a group show by five artists including Maya Ciarrocchi, Loren Eiferman, John McGill, Gregory Muenzen, and David Schwittek.

PAPER WORK’S! is a show comprised of five Artists (most of whom are new to the gallery) works on paper. “I’m so happy with this show”, Christopher Brescia, owner of CB Gallery says, “I’m so lucky to have gotten some of these incredibly talented artists to work outside their comfort zone and agree to show some of these never seen before pieces”, continues Brescia, “For example, Loren Eiferman is mostly known as a sculptor but she paints regularly and David Schwittek is a textile artist who gracefully brought some of his photos and drawings.” “I love seeing other disciplines of multifaceted artists work as it’s a peek at a side of them that is unique and quite mysterious.

Maya Ciarrocchi is a New York City-based interdisciplinary artist working across media in drawing, printmaking, video, and performance. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and received residencies from the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, MacDowell, Millay Arts, UCross, and Wave Hill.

Loren Eiferman’s is primarily a wood sculptor who has been exhibited extensively throughout the New York region from Lower East Side NYC galleries to numerous museum exhibitions in the Hudson Valley (Katonah, Neuberger, Dorsky and New Britain Museums). This group of her paintings is based on and inspired by photos seen in the New York Times. She lives and maintains a studio in the Hudson Valley, New York.

John McGill is an artist and curator based in Katonah. His intricately drawn classical architecture drawings of iconic spaces can take up to 20 hours to create and are inspired by his personal and professional travels.

Also based in Katonah, Gregory Muenzen makes larger oil paintings and wood sculptures but has always enjoyed making works on paper, these studies observed from life and more abstracted paintings a process of connecting the inner expressive self and the outer world often with mythological themes.

David Schwittek is an artist, designer, and filmmaker working in New York City. He is currently Assistant Professor of Graphic Design and Digital Media at Lehman College (CUNY). Schwittek’s most recent works, a series entitled 21 Truck of San Antonio Texcala, was exhibited at the Katonah Museum of Art in the summer of 2020. David lives with his wife Abby, and his children, Sloane and Sawyer, in Bedford Corners, NY.

An opening reception will take place on Friday, December 10 from 5-8 pm to coincide with the Katonah Holiday Shopping Event.

About CB Gallery

Named 2019’s Best New Art Gallery in Westchester Magazine, Christopher Brescia opened the CB Gallery space in January 2019 in the charming downtown of Katonah, NY. The mission of the gallery is to offer Westchester and Connecticut residents as well as visitors and week-enders living in the community, something new and different in terms of contemporary artwork unlike anything else being offered in the area.   All artist exhibitions feature paintings, photography, drawings, and sculpture depending on the show.

Brescia believes art truly enhances your living space and gives a home life, personality and soul and that just because you have a traditional house, does not mean you have to own traditional artwork!  In addition, CB Gallery offers in-home art consultation appointments to evaluate your current collection and make recommendations on existing and new art purchases.
