Liana Werner Gray Author of Cancer-Free with Food Shares Recipe to Fight Disease

Stacy: What made you decide to write the book Cancer-Free with Food: A Step-by-Step Plan with 100+ Recipes to Fight Disease, Nourish Your Body & Restore Your Health?

Liana: After being diagnosed with a tumor in my neck, my doctors gave me two very different diagnoses and option plans.  Now that I am tumor free, I attribute this to radically adjusting my diet, nourishing my body with the right super foods, and listening to my body.  When you’ve been given the news that you have cancer, you feel like your whole world has been turned upside and the last thing you want to think about is what kind of super foods you should be eating. Meal planning, prepping and grocery shopping is time consuming and tedious as it is, which is where Cancer-Free: A Step-by-Step Plan with 100+ Recipes to Fight Disease, Nourish Your Body and Restore Your Health (Hay House Inc; April 23, 2019) comes in with easy- to-implement recipes that you can make in your own home. I offer a simple yet comprehensive guide to nutrition for those who have been diagnosed with cancer, have a history of cancer in their family, or those who are interested in preventative measures.

Stacy: What are some cancer healing foods?

Liana: Did you know that the following foods are top cancer healing foods? Many of these you are probably eating regularly!

  • Broccoli Sprouts
  • Turmeric
  • Blueberries
  • Broccoli
  • Flaxseed
  • Dark Leafy Greens
  • Garlic

Stacy: Does the book have any recipes? Can you share a recipe with readers?

Liana: Yes! Cancer-Free with Food contains 195 simple and tested recipes created to boost your immune system and promote healing. Best of all, these healthy and appealing meals can also be tailored for a gluten-free, keto, vegan, and paleo diet. Below is the recipe for Anticancer Muffins from my book.

ANTICANCER MUFFINS

This is an epic muffin recipe that makes a great breakfast because

it is delicious and filling and packed with loads of anticancer

ingredients. These are truly mind-blowingly tasty and

a must-try! They are also gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and

egg-free. To make them even more anticancer potent, add one

apricot seed to each muffin—just poke one right in the middle

after pouring the mix into the muffin tin!
