Everyone knows that the chilly winter season means bundling upto stay warm…which also means looking like you gained 10 pounds overnight. While health is always a priority, does this mean style should be forgotten?
Don’t let the cold turn you into the Michelin Man! StyleCycle presents these simple tips to stay warm and chic this winter:
- Opt for finer fabrics, such as cashmere over wool and silk over cotton. In fact our favorite is to layer a silk blouse, which feels great against the skin, under a cashmere sweater.
- Leather in the winter is guaranteed to keep you warm! And of course, stick to black leather – it’s universally flattering on the bottom!
- When choosing a coat try and avoid the big puffer. An alpaca coat is much warmer than wool. But if you must go with down, you can try a belt around a puffy coat to give you a waist.
- Optimize the one silhouette look….again stick with black when in doubt.
- Avoid bulky sweaters if you are bigger on top. Instead wear a closer fitting knit and add a vest over it…fur and fake fur are great options just make sure they are not too bulky.
- There are so many chic options in boots…we urge you to put away the old unflattering ones. Layer cashmere socks under a stylish boot instead.
