Newtown Lane and Main Street, East Hampton Village
Q: How did you come to be a part of this event?
A: The great Bedside Reading ‘maven’ Jane Ubell-Meyer chose me to be one of the authors on this first participation.
I’m excited to be in people’s hotel rooms….well the book is. I am always in the Hamptons a few times in the summer and thought it would be fun, hope to see friends and make new ones.
Q: What is your book about?
A: I was one of the first female TV writers of sitcoms like the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Newhart, Patridge Family, Square Pegs. It’s about those days and the three R’s: resilience, reinvention, and relationships. As the lyrics to the theme song for Mary asked, “How did I make it after all?” It’s also about the things women of a certain age, “between 50 & death” experience, plus lots of laughs and some good sexy stories.
Q: What’s next?
A: I have a radio commentary on a small NPR station called WHDD, Robinhood Radio and it’s called “Susan Sez” where I cover culture, media and things that piss me off called “Oh Come On.” Lots of things piss me off.
Q: Such as?
A: Well, living in the city, noise is number one and a lot is political but we won’t go there now.
Q: What are some of the sexy stories?
A: Well you have to get the book which is also available in Audio…I did the recording and that was great like really having an intimate conversation with reader/listeners. Ok, ok, I escaped some of the biggest gropers…Bill Cosby among them and it’s all in the book. Some good romances are disguised but I will tell your readers, the French movie star is definitely NOT Gerard Depardieu! I mean, come on.
