Cognac and Coffee : You’ll want to sip this twist on a caffeinated classic, day or night

espresso martini

There is something truly special and comforting about an Espresso Martini. It’s the kind of boozy beverage that works any time of year (or time of day). While traditionally made with vodka, I’m excited to share the secret to achieving an elevated, modern take on this classic cocktail with the added richness and decadence of Cognac.

“When you explore the complexity of Cognac alongside the diverse world of coffee, you’ll find that their overlapping flavor profiles make the pairing of these two ingredients an extraordinary match. A discerned Cognac drinker might taste candied citrus, dried fruits, baking spices or rich chocolate, many of the same flavors that can be highlighted in coffee depending on the place of origin and roast of the bean.”–Madelyn Kay, Collectif 1806 Ambassador

Our personal favorite for this caffeinated cognac cocktail is made with Rémy Martin 1738 because it’s incredibly versatile for cocktail making and has notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate which pairs exceptionally well with coffee. But other cognacs can make a great match too!

Don’t just take my words for it…try one out today, tonight, or this weekend. Or shake one up for Easter brunch or Mom on Mother’s Day for something both caffeinated and delicious. You can’t go wrong.
