The Ticking Tent Is Back in Bedford. Put This One on Your Calendar.

The Ticking Tent returns to Bedford, November 13 and 14

Cocktails, pizza and a first look at beautiful things? You have my attention.

The Ticking Tent returns to Bedford November 13-14, and this is one to put on the calendar. My friend Steph sent over the details, and I wanted you to have them, too. If your idea of a good outing involves a little shopping, a little socializing and something you weren't expecting to fall in love with, keep reading.

The setting is oHHo at the Old Firehouse, 34 Village Green. The draw is a mix of antiques, art, home finds, fashion and jewelry from artisans and independent brands. Think less 'another thing to order online' and more 'where did you find that?'

Start with the party

Friday, November 13, from 6-8 PM, is the $250 pizza, cocktails and first-look shopping evening. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Bedford Historical Society. A local night out with a little treasure hunting built in? That's a very good combination.

Or make it a Saturday outing

Saturday, November 14, starts with an early bird breakfast and shopping from 9-11 AM. The invitation pairs breakfast by Bedford Gourmet with sponsorship by Julia B. Fee | Sotheby's International Realty. Later shopping sessions have timed entry, so choose your slot before you go.

The Bedford vendor list includes Carolina Irving & Daughters, The Green Vase, Pooky, The Salting, Upstate Rugs and Ward Vintage, among many others. There is plenty of room here for a hostess gift, a holiday present or something for your own home. I won't judge which one wins.

Know before you go

The party, breakfast and later market sessions have different ticket options. Saturday shopping is paid entry, not free. Check the ticket page for current prices, fees and availability before choosing your time. The listing says ages 12+ and no refunds; parking is free.

Grab a friend, pick your time and leave room for an unexpected find. This is the kind of local outing I love having on the calendar.
