Westchester, Bedford and one very worthwhile Ridgefield detour | September 30–October 12, 2026
A film conversation in Pleasantville, two reasons to spend Friday in Katonah, a proper fall Sunday and a little music worth planning ahead for. This is the sort of local calendar I actually want to use: a few good choices, not 50 tabs. Here is what is on my radar.

Wednesday, Sept. 30 | Atonement at Jacob Burns Film Center, Pleasantville
The 7 p.m. preview comes before the film’s October 9 opening, with a Q&A afterward featuring actor Boyd Holbrook and director Reed van Dyk. If you like hearing how a film was made while it is still fresh in your mind, this is your night. Event details
Friday, Oct. 2 | KMA Fall Fête, Katonah
From 5 to 7 p.m., the museum opens its sculpture garden for live music, bites and drinks, art-making and an after-hours look at Diplomacy at Home before the exhibition closes Sunday. The docent tour is a nice reason to linger. Registration is required; the event is rain or shine. Event details
Friday, Oct. 2 | Nobuntu at Caramoor, Katonah
Then stay in Katonah: at 7:30 p.m., the Zimbabwean vocal group Nobuntu brings traditional song, Afro-jazz and gospel to Caramoor’s Rosen House Music Room, with dance and percussion. Two very different evenings in one town, if you are feeling ambitious. Event details
Saturday, Oct. 3 | Fall in Love with Ridgefield
A Main Street wander from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: local shops, food and the scarecrow competition. Ridgefield is an easy place to turn a town event into a longer lunch and a browse. Event details
Sunday, Oct. 4 | Armonk Cider & Donut Festival
At Wampus Brook Park, Jamie’s 5K Run for Love starts the morning; the carnival gets going at 10:30 a.m. Add cider, hot donuts, local food and music, and you have a very good excuse to make a Sunday of it. Event details

Thursday, Oct. 8 | Art Garfunkel at the Ridgefield Playhouse
The (What a) Wonderful World concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. This date was rescheduled from July 28, so use the Playhouse’s current event page rather than an old ticket listing. Event details
Friday–Monday, Oct. 9–12 | Hocus Pocus and pumpkins at Muscoot
Friday brings an outdoor screening of Hocus Pocus at 7 p.m., with actor Larry Bagby introducing the film. Then Muscoot’s pumpkin-picking fundraiser runs Saturday through Monday, 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with hayrides, cider and donuts available to buy.
