If you love Broadway and you love to eat — and really, who doesn’t? — put Wednesday, September 9, 2026 on your calendar.
The Taste of Times Square is back, bringing more than 30 Times Square restaurants together for one big outdoor food festival from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
And for the first time, it’s happening on a Wednesday.
Why do I love this idea? Because Wednesday is Broadway matinee day. You can see an afternoon show, walk outside, eat your way through Times Square, and maybe even head back in for another show that night. Now that is my kind of Wednesday.
More Than 30 Restaurants — With Tastes Starting at $5
Taste of Times Square takes over 46th Street and Restaurant Row from Seventh to Ninth Avenues, along with the Broadway Plazas between 45th and 47th Streets.
Expect food from all over the world — Italian, Mexican, Caribbean, Cuban, Indian, American, sushi, barbecue, seafood and plenty more.
Participating restaurants currently include:
Becco, Bond 45, Brooklyn Chop House Times Square, Carmine’s, Havana Central, Jasmine’s Caribbean Cuisine, Junior’s, Le Rivage, Mermaid Oyster Bar, Serendipity 3, Spice Symphony, Sushi of Gari, Toloache, Tony’s Di Napoli, Virgil’s Real Barbecue and many more.
And here’s the part I really like: most tastes are just $5, with a few priced at $10.
There will also be live music and Broadway-themed performances throughout the evening.
Save 20% If You Buy in Advance
At the festival, you’ll be able to register a wristband with a credit or debit card and use it to purchase food from the participating restaurants.
But if you already know you’re going, there’s a reason not to wait: advance purchases are 20% off.

Between Broadway, Restaurant Row and $5 bites, this may be one of the best reasons to head into Times Square before summer officially slips away.
My advice? Go hungry.
