The Music of the Dave Brubeck Octet: Restored and Reimagined

June 15  @ 7:00pm-8:30pm

An homage to The David Brubeck Octet, the library is hosting a historic jazz concert bringing Brubeck’s most famous arrangements back to life for the first time since the 1950s – led by saxophonist Jon De Lucia and his all-star jazz octet featuring grammy-winning musicians. The Brubeck Octet, formed in the 1940s, is where Brubeck and his fellow composition students at Mills College explored musical concepts like polytonality and odd meters for the first time.
