World Art Day is coming up (April 15th) its the perfect opportunity to spend a fun, romantic and cultural day with a loved one. How about trying something new and creative with your partner? Keeping that in mind, online art gallery and shop Singulart has put together a list of five ideas (plus a bonus) to commemorate this worldwide celebration and promote the enjoyment of art with a special person. https://www.singulart.com/en/
1. Create Your Own Card or Gift
Whether your skills are in painting, crafts, or digital design, there are many ways you can make something special and arty.
Paint the front of the card with a design they’ll love or put together a book of photographs you’ve taken together. Get creative with your customization.
2. Life Drawing
There’s been a huge increase in interest in drawing classes. These are a great opportunity for you and your partner to work together on pieces of art that you can take home and cherish together. If they’re passionate about drawing, this could be a perfect way to spend the World Art Day.
Get creative and go to your favorite café or park and sketch passersby together for something simpler. Or even better – draw each other!
3. Explore an Art Gallery
Of course, going to an art museum may be quite obvious for an artsy date, but it will never get old. Take them to their favorite exhibition or explore a gallery you’ve never been to before. No matter which art museum you go to, you’re likely to find something new to experience together.
Local art galleries always have new art pieces to see, whilst big national galleries will have changing exhibitions to discover. Who knows what you’ll come across?
4. Join a Painting Class
Just like life drawing, a painting class or ‘paint and sip party’ will help you find your artistic flow with a bit of fun while painting alongside some drinks. Whether you want to paint a masterpiece or enjoy a little bit of quality time together, consider your local art shops for a memorable date.
Alternatively, if there are no options for this around you, you can even do a virtual class or make it happen yourself with a setup at home. You could get teachers and artists up on social media like the nostalgic YouTube videos of Bob Ross to watch and follow along with.
5. Upcycling Thrifted Art
If you’re looking for a unique date experience this World Art Day, explore thrift stores to find art that you can redesign and give new life to. Add a unique new perspective to a painting or experiment with daring colors to create relics that you can appreciate for years to come. Even better if you work on one upcycled art piece together.
Bonus: Send an artistic nude!
If you want to artsy-up the act of sending nudes to your significant other(s), Singulart has also created a hilarious Instagram filter to make sending nudes safe, romantic and cultural. The filters depict either the naked Venus in Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’ or the bare-chested Adam in Michelangelo’s ‘The Creation of Adam’, both giving a bit of tasteful nudity while still leaving a couple of details to the imagination – just like a titillating nude is meant to!
