Favorite recipes that are fun to serve on the Fourth of July.

Independence Day was always a particularly festive occasion in our family. For months leading up to the holiday my grandpa Joe would grow out his snow-white goatee. Then when the big day came “Uncle Sam” and grandma as “Aunt Samantha” would participate in parades and events in the community, handing out flags and encouraging people to register to vote and participate civically. He was a proud patriot and we enjoyed seeing him happily waving to the crowds – and grandma was just happy when he shaved the next day!

However you celebrate America’s Independence Day, whether it’s participating in a parade or just waving from the sidelines, hosting a backyard barbeque or picnicking in the park to watch fireworks, food is usually a big part of the party.

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite recipes that are fun to serve on the Fourth of July.
