Westchester’s Winter Wonderland’s adds Lights of Wonder show, and the details of FUNderland Village featuring six new rides for 2018.
Lights of Wonder: An additional 250,000 eco-friendly LED lights animated to holiday music have been added to the millions of lights in the park! New magical displays include angels, snowflakes, elves tossing wrapped holiday gifts, and a message of good will towards all. They join Santa’s sleigh and reindeer and two 27-foot Candy Canes flanking the entrance to the park.
FUNderland Village: 10 rides including the Wonderland Express, Winter Hay Ride, Holly Jolly Caterpillar, Fun Slide and new this year Wonderland Train Ride, Holiday Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Dizzy Dragons, Fire Trucks and Flying Dinosaurs.
Magic Show: Running at nightly at 5:45, 6:45 and 7:45 pm each night, our silly elf will bring you fun, laughter, dance, magic, audience participation and more. Our elf tells you what it’s like working at Santa’s Workshop and all the jobs there such as candy cane making, snowman building, toy testing, tree lighting and more. Show is 30 minutes long.
Ticket price allows for unlimited access to ten amusement rides, ice skating including skate rentals, as well as Holiday Circus and Magic Show performances, visits with Santa Claus and special characters, and much more. General admission is $20 per person; ages 3 and under are free.
The fifth-annual event kicks-off Friday, November 23 at 5 pm with the official tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., led by County Executive George Latimer and Westchester Parks Foundation Chairperson Joanne Fernandez, sponsored by Robison Oil. Westchester’s WinterWonderland is presented for the fifth year by Westchester Medical Center, sponsored by the Westchester Parks Foundation and produced by Westchester County Parks, Recreation and Conservation. Event sponsors include Con Edison and Party Line Rentals.
As in years’ past, Westchester’s Winter Wonderland will feature an exciting array of entertainment for all ages, including its signature Santa Experience. The Winter Wonderland Holiday circus is back again, featuring acts run by Ringmaster Joe Barney who has appeared with The Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus and The Big Apple Circus. This year’s Winter Wonderland will also feature a signature Magic Show in the Dining Tent. These events all take place inside heated tents, offering visitors a chance to come in out of the cold.
For the $20 all-inclusive ticket price, guests will also enjoy ice skating on the 70-foot by 90-foot outdoor ice rink, including skate rental. All new this year, the “FUNderland Village” at Winter Wonderland will feature six thrilling rides, surrounding the Winter WonderlandHoliday Circus, in addition to favorites Winter Hay Ride, Wonderland Express, and others for a total of TEN RIDES. This year’s “Lights of Wonder” show will feature even more lights and music, with magical displays to dazzle visitors.
