What makes Hudson Learning Lab different from traditional tutors?
Each child is a unique learner. Some may have challenges with academic skills and organization which prevent them from getting the grades they deserve. This can lead to poor self-confidence and lack of motivation.
Dr. Mitchell Samet and Marcella Moran founded Hudson Learning Lab as an alternative to traditional tutoring centers which rely on subject-area specialists (study buddy) or a “one size fits all” system. Hudson Learning Lab offers CUSTOM-DESIGNED interventions based on your child’s specific learning profile and needs. Each child receives a customized learning program utilizing scientifically based interventions and learning strategies, and progress is monitored continually for optimal results.
Tell me about the founders:
Dr. Samet is a well-known school psychologist, educational psychology professor, and NYS licensed psychologist in private practice. He has over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Marcella Moran, MA, LMHC is a licensed psychotherapist who works with families to develop positive strategies for students who are disorganized. She is the co-author of Organizing the Disorganized Child along with internationally renowned Neurologist, Dr. Martin Kutscher.
How do I get my child/adolescent started?
Hudson Learning Lab begins with a comprehensive intake in which parents meet with the directors to review prior test results, teacher comments and school records and discuss a variety of customized intervention available to help their children achieve optimally. Educational screening is also available to help clarify each student’s strengths/challenges and identify their learning style.
