Americans play board games with each other during the holidays more than any other time of the year—and this year, more and more of them will be looking to connect and have fun with each other on Zoom.
To accommodate this new normal, the creator of the new cultural trivia board game, Boom Again® ( www.boomagain.com ) has devised the “Boom Zoom,” a special set of easy, streamlined rules that can be hosted by one person using the physical game and be played by any number of players on two teams (details here).
This Zoom version has already been road-tested separately with Boom Again creator Brian Hersch and NPR’s Scott Simon—and comedian Gilbert Gottfried with his wife Dara and friends (here) on Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast.
Here’s a quick overview of Boom Again:
Boom Again® is a new cultural trivia board game is the brainchild of Brian Hersch, the inventor of Taboo, Outburst, Super Scattergories and dozens of the most popular party games of the last 35 years. The game is aimed directly at the generation of 80 million Baby Boomers who are scrambling for fresh entertainment options—when most of the entertainment options don’t speak to them.
Unlike conventional trivia that appeals to the diehards, Boom Again is a team game that will be fun for anyone who likes to sing their favorite hits from the pop charts (on-key or off); can name the four original main-course entrees in Swanson’s TV dinners (thanks to the commercials); or identify the five actors who played James Bond and five members of the Corleone family.
