As we move seamlessly into another new season, thoughts are turning to what we can do with our hair to get it looking great for each season. Treat yourself to a new salon treatment or a relaxing spa day and get yourself ready for the new season with a timeless look which is perfect for the time of year to make sure you’re looking your best all year round, regardless of the weather.
Spring
Spring is all about looking fresh and shaking off the winter chill. April showers can really take their toll on locks, so if your hair is prone to frizzing, make sure you get a smoothing treatment at the salon so that it doesn’t go wild at the first sign of rain. Chemical straightening can be another solution as it means you can largely avoid the wild windswept look, or, failing that, a top quality oil treatment to restore some of the moisture stripped away in the harsh winter weather.
Summer
In Summer, you want to look as laid back and casual as possible. You don’t want to spend hours taming your hair in the hot weather, so get a really simple, easy to maintain haircut. Now isn’t the time for anything super sleek or styled, so ask for something you can essentially ‘wash and go’. Now is the perfect time for highlights, so go for a T-section for a subtle summer shimmer or a full head of highlights to be the beach queen. All you need is a spritz of salt spray and you’re good to go.
Autumn
Autumn is the perfect time to get a chic new cut ahead of the party season. The reason you should get it done in advance is because it will have time to settle into a style you can manage, and if it goes wrong there is time to grow it out. Autumn hair should be soft and full of volume to match all your chunky knits used to fend off the chill creeping into the air, so a blow dry is the ideal way to do this.
Winter
Winter is one of the trickiest times for hair, with rain, snow and wind all giving hair a bit of a battering. A Brazilian blow dry will get it looking glossy and healthy for all your winter parties. A rich, warm colour looks ideal against all the jewel colours and little black dresses, so go for a shiny chocolate brown, a fiery red or even a sultry black for the most beautiful winter looks.
