How much gold have the leprechauns hidden in that pot at the end of the rainbow?
Not as much as you might think, according to investors surveyed by Spectrem Group’s online investor center Millionaire Corner. Six out of 10 people say the fortune is $1 million or less, with 41% saying the gold amounts to $1 million, 6% saying it is $500,000 and 13% figuring the pot holds a modest $100,000. On the other hand, 11% of 1,019 investors surveyed say the pot has a cool $1 billion in it. Another 18% say it holds $5 million and just 10% believe the leprechauns are good for $25 million.
Regardless of how much can be found at the end of the rainbow, searching for the elusive pot of gold isn’t at the top of investors’ plans for St. Patrick’s Day this year. Instead, the most popular ways to celebrate are wearing green (75%) and cooking the traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner (39%), according to Millionaire Corner.
