GIADZY DEBUTS FIRST PRIVATE-LABEL PRODUCTS, ARTISAN PASTAS MADE IN ITALY
Organically Grown, Die-Cut, Air-Dried Giadzy Pasta Comes in Eight Sensational Shapes
Earning the trust of Italophiles and gastronomes since 2016, Giadzy will debut its first in-house products with a line of eight, Made-in-Italy artisan organic pastas beginning on July 23. For $10.50 per 1.1 pound package, the private-label pasta line will be available exclusively from Giadzy, the lifestyle and e-commerce platform delivering authentic regional Italian food products to consumers everywhere.
After months of research and conversation with the best pasta-makers in Italy, award-winning chef Giada De Laurentiis and the Giadzy team identified the key aspects of a pasta line that could carry the Giadzy name: exceptional raw ingredients, time-honored techniques, and a diversity of shapely experiences.
Giadzy Pasta is crafted in the region of Abruzzo, a verdant gem on the country’s central east coast. To make Giadzy Pasta, spring water from the Majella mountain range is combined with semolina flour organically grown and ground at the base of the mountains. Distinguished by the sweet aroma of pure wheat, unlike industrially processed grains, this strain of Italian semolina can be traced from field to factory and is farmed with reverence and care for the local land.
Cut on 100-year-old bronze dies, Giadzy Pasta utilizes an ancestral technology that impresses the raw dough with a rustic texture. When cooked, its rough surface helps the sauce to cling to the pasta, making every bite perfect. The pasta is air-dried in a cool environment for up to 36 hours, dehydrating naturally compared to industrial pasta that are flash-dried at high temperatures that essentially bake the dough, creating a mushy, uneven product. Through this process, its structural integrity is preserved and the pasta remains dense, able to achieve the coveted al dente bite when cooked.
Giadzy Pasta launches with eight harder-to-find shapes – from curled and twisted to square and tubular – chosen for their versatility in the kitchen. Some pair better with sauces like marinara or pesto. Some are meant to be twirled, or pierced, or cradled in a spoon for brothy dishes. Some better hold vegetables and other ingredients so that every bite is perfectly balanced.
Giadzy Pasta debuts with the following eight sensational shapes:
- Nodi Marini
- Bucatini
- Taccole
- Pappardelle
- Paccheri
- Bucatini Lunghi
- Manfredi Lunghi
- Spaghetti Chitarra
“When we thought about starting to make our own Giadzy products, pasta was a no-brainer, and we are excited to introduce our customers to some of the wonderful pasta products made by Italy’s regional producers,” says Giada De Laurentiis. Her career has always focused on the pure pleasure of Italian food and the power of simple authenticity, and no food embodies those values better than a perfectly made pasta. With just two ingredients, flour and water, dried pasta spotlights the artistry of a centuries-old culinary craft.
