Who are your typical patients?
My patients are looking to have children and are typically facing issues around infertility and need expert guidance from a fertility specialist.
How do you help couples struggling with fertility?
I provide fertility treatments and reproductive solutions for individuals and couples. By deploying the most innovative technologies, we optimize for the highest possible chance of success to create a family.
How can women take charge of their fertility?
Decide and give yourself time to think about what you want to do next. Success in fertility doesn’t only mean having children, it also means preserving the option to have children, too. For example, this could be a woman who just graduated from law school and froze her eggs to have more time to decide what to do next.
What are some of the most common fertility issues women struggle with when it comes to infertility?
- Endometriosis: You can read my latest article on endometriosis and infertility on Medium.
- PCOS: You can read my latest article on PCOS and infertility on Medium.
What is the top myth about fertility you want people to know?
Many women are going overseas to freeze their eggs because they think it is more cost effective. However, that is not necessarily true. As I like to tell patients, egg freezing is a serious procedure; not a vacation.
What fertility treatments do you offer at SCRC?
IVF, embryo/sperm/egg freezing, surgical fertility treatments, IUI, genetic testing, assisted reproductive technologies, and more. By utilizing top-of-the-line fertility technology, we have some of the highest success rates in the world. Advancements in fertility treatments and technologies, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), have improved success rates and made fertility treatments more accessible. My clinic has state-of-the-art assisted reproductive technologies (ART) facilities located in-house at our Beverly Hills, Los Angeles office. This is a significant advantage to patients looking for a private and exclusive experience. The laboratory facilities comprise the ART Reproductive Center.
What is ART?
Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) involve the direct manipulation of eggs, sperm, and embryos for use in infertility treatment. Types of assisted reproductive technologies performed at SCRC include in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer (IVF-ET), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and assisted hatching (AH) of embryos.
The Future of IVF: A Look at the Latest Innovations and What It Means for Fertility Patients
What advanced technology do you offer at your fertility clinic?
SCRC (Southern California Reproductive Center) is one of the most advanced IVF laboratories in the world. Our fertility specialists utilize the most advanced techniques in IVF, including ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection), PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis), and egg freezing. We also use the latest fertility medications for the induction of ovulation.
Our fertility center offers more than fifteen different methods of assisted reproduction, matching each patient with the right treatment plan for their unique situation and goals.
Patients will typically find this level of advanced technology in major medical centers. We are the only clinic in the Santa Barbara region with access to this kind of technology.
Our clinics pregnancy success rates are significantly higher than the national average. Tens of thousands of happy patients have trusted us on their fertility journeys. SCRC has higher pregnancy rates vs. the national average, and our live birth rates are 3x the national average in women over 40. This is reported by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).
Can we see your office in Beverly Hills?
What are you most excited about when it comes to the future of fertility technology?
I am excited to offer patients the most advanced fertility technology available. Newer assisted reproductive technologies include powerful techniques such as embryo biopsy and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) for chromosomal and genetic evaluation.
The Embryologists at my clinic use the EmbryoScope as a tool for the selection of the most optimal embryos, by analyzing greater than 5,000 images for each embryo.
An analysis of five published studies including 1,637 patients demonstrated that time-lapse monitoring was associated with a significantly higher pregnancy rate, and a higher live birth rate: a 25% increase in pregnancy rate, and a 40% increase in the live birth rate.
We are one of very few locations nationwide and the first in Southern California to have not one, but multiple EmbryoScope, in which we have over ten years of experience with clinical use.
My clinic is also one of the first fertility centers to use the ZyMо̄t chip technology, which isolates the healthiest, best-performing sperm with the lowest possible DNA fragmentation to be selected for embryo creation. In a study of over 2000 patients, the use of the ZyMot chip increased positive pregnancy outcomes by 15% versus the standard centrifugation method.
With 50% of infertility cases linked to poor sperm health, our Embryology Team uses the latest technology, such as the ZyMо̄t chip, to help make embryos into babies and couples into families.
ZyMо̄t processing has helped us improve overall sperm quality as well as increase fertilization and blastocyst developmental rates, helping patients achieve their reproductive goals.
