Art in the Forest: Experience Nature and Creativity with Megan Dyer

Looking for a unique way to immerse yourself in art while reconnecting with nature? Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 27, 2024, because something truly special is happening in Chappaqua!

The Friends of Buttonhook Forest, a local nonprofit dedicated to preserving sacred Native American land and forests, is hosting an outdoor art exhibition featuring the works of interdisciplinary artist and climate activist Megan Dyer. This isn’t your typical art show—it’s art in the heart of the forest, surrounded by the very landscapes Dyer seeks to protect.

What’s Happening? Megan Dyer’s work is celebrated for its powerful intersection of art and environmental activism, and this exhibit will highlight just that. As you stroll through the forest, you’ll be able to admire her pieces while learning about the ongoing efforts to preserve Buttonhook Forest, a site of significant Native American ceremonial stone landscapes that’s currently threatened by development.

You’ll also enjoy a guided walking tour where you’ll hear from Dyer herself about her creative process and deep connection to the natural world. Cap off the afternoon with a wine and cheese reception, all while soaking in the stunning outdoor setting.
